I made this print as a little shout-out to the building my studio calls home. Seeing those old kilns every morning never fails to brighten my day. I’m really proud to be carrying on a bit of Stokie heritage!
I made this print as a nod to the building which my studio is located. It always makes me smile seeing the kilns when I show up to work, and i also get nice feedback from my customers too!

About the artist
Hiya, I'm Gem. I've been tattooing since 2013. It started as an apprenticeship squeezed in around a graphic design job, then I made the jump to tattooing full time and never looked back. I've worked in studios around Cheshire and Stoke-on-Trent, with guest spots in Derby, Sheffield, Manchester and Nottingham along the way.
In 2019 I opened my own private studio inside an old 18th century potbank in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. I'm a proper Stokie, so working in one of those buildings means a lot to me. It became Little Hawk Studio in 2022, a home for my tattooing, my illustrations and whatever else I'm making that month, plus guest artists and the odd creative workshop.
My style is delicate but bold. Clean linework, grey dotwork shading, and a bit of traditional and whimsical thrown in. I'm happiest tattooing animals, insects, fruit and florals, and anything with wings.
