Shine On You Crazy Diamond | A2 Lino print

£30.00Plus Postage

I was asked to take part in Great Bear Gallery’s The Palette Project: PINK last month and this was the piece it inspired, a lino print based on Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.”

This piece is both a nod to the exhibition’s theme and a personal reminder to keep shining, which marks my debut in lino printing, and I’m stoked with how it turned out. A limited edition run of 20 PINK prints are now available.

Paper Type: Snowdon Cartridge 300gsm
Limited edition Pink

I had the absolute pleasure of being part of @greatbear_gallery’s latest exhibition last month 🩷 The Pallete Project: PINK 🩷

I always seem to be drawn to creating music related art and ‘Shine on you Crazy Diamond’ came to mind not only being an obvious ‘pink’ connection with the song being by the band Pink Floyd, but also has been a song that has resonated with me a lot this last year. A reminder to not let anyone dull your sparkle

The lino printing technique I chose to do was something I’d really been wanting to try for a long time. I seem to collect a lot of lino prints from other artists, so used this exhibition as a push to have a go myself and I’m SO HAPPY by how it turned out after this first attempt at a new craft 🩷

I have a limited run of 20 PINK prints

Thanks for looking

About the artist

GEM HAWK

Gem has been working in the tattoo industry for 12 years, starting with an apprenticeship alongside a graphic design job before making the leap to tattoo full-time. She discovered her passion for the artist-customer interaction that tattooing offered, working through various studios around Cheshire and Stoke-on-Trent, plus guest spots across Derby, Sheffield, Manchester, and Nottingham.

In 2019, she opened her own private studio in an old 18th century pot bank in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent – a location she's proud of for its Stokie heritage. She rebranded to Little Hawk Studio in 2022, creating a space for her tattooing, illustrations, and other creative projects, while also hosting guest artists and workshops like clay classes.

Her style has evolved to feature delicate but bold designs, grey dotwork shading, and clean shapes with traditional and whimsical influences. Common themes include animals and insects, fruits, and florals.
